Job description

A leading London based hedge fund is looking for a Quantitative Software Engineer for their Quant Engineering team. The technology team is growing due to a number of years of strong performance and the business has been expanding into new asset classes and trading strategies over the last 2-3 years meaning the complexity of their technology stack is constantly changing and evolving. 

This role would suit an experienced software engineer with extensive Python programming experience and experience building distributed systems. You will be working on building the tools, data pipelines and research platforms that support the quants, PMs and traders across multiple asset classes, meaning there is an opportunity for direct exposure to the business whilst working with the latest technologies. There are a number of exciting projects happening and the successful candidate will be rewarded exceptionally well both in terms of career progression and compensation.

Key Requirements 
  • 5+ years of Python development experience (ideally large scale, distributed systems)
  • Experience with other OO programming languages such as C++/Java 
  • Strong knowledge of data engineering best practices; data pipelines, processing data at scale 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; proven experience of gathering requirements and managing stakeholder relationships whilst in a developer role 
  • Knowledge of big data/distributed compute tools such as Spark, Airflow, Dask etc
