Job description

Referment has partnered with a leading propriatory trading and marking making firm to help find a Network Engineer for their infrastructure team here in London. This is a very exciting opportunity for someone who is early on in their networking career and has a keen interest in working in financial markets and low latency trading.

You will be working in a small team which is responsible for the design, implementation and support of their low latency trading network. This covers LANs, WANs, Cloud and Exchange Connectivity networks used across all areas of the business. The successful Network Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting and solving network issues, monitoring the network, performance tuning and using automation tools/scripts to automate operational tasks.

This role will provide the successful network engineer a chance to work with cutting edge technologies and have direct interaction with Quants, Traders and work alongside other infrastructure engineers who are known to be some of the best in the industry! There is a lot of opportunity for career progression and strong financial earnings in this role.

Key Requirements
  • Up to 6 years of experience working as a Network Engineer in an enterprise environment 
  • Strong Routing, Switching and Firewall knowledge 
  • In depth knowledge of core and advanced routing protocols such as TCP, UDP and BGP, EIGRP, IGMP 
  • Exposure to scripting languages and automation tools such as Python and Ansible 
  • Experience with financial, trading or low-latency environments is advantageous, but not essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
