Job description

Referment have partnered with a leading hedge fund who have a rare and exciting opportunity in London for a Global Head of IT Support. The successful applicant will be managing a global team of application and desktop supports engineers across multiple time zones, whilst working closely with the Head of Development and CTO to drive best practices around automation and evolving the technology stack. The team you will be managing provides technical support for all of the front, middle and back office applications and also the end user technology stack across all offices. As well as managing the team, you will be required to be hands on and close to the technology in order to be considered for this role.

The successful Head of Support, should come from a strong technical IT support background and have hands on experience supporting trading applications across various asset classes. Strong leadership skills and an "automation first" approach is required as well as proven experience of leading medium sized teams within the IT support space.

Key Requirements
  • Proven experience leading IT support teams within a fast paced trading environment (desktop and application support engineers)
  • Strong technical background (Unix, SQL, Python)
  • Good financial markets business knowledge gained from technical support working for hedge funds or trading companies (Fixed Income and Equities desired)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of automation and an SRE mindset
